Under sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Public Exam Act, the centre incorporated strict legal obligations to curb malpractices in competitive exams.

Penalty for Offending Anti-leak Law
As per the legal obligation enforced by centre in Anti-leak law, those convicted of using unfair means will be imprisoned for 3-5 years with a penalty of up to INR 10 lakh.
Punishment for Service Providers
The anti-leak law states that the organisation helping in leaking papers or tampering with computer networks will be jailed with a fine of up to INR 1 crore.
Investigation Team under Anti-Leak Law
The offenses committed under anti-leak law will be investigated by a team of officers. The officers must have the rank of deputy superintendent or ACP.
